Qroom plus prototype fully at work in Ivrea.

Perfectly on schedule, Qroom Plus prototype is operative since April 2023 in Ivrea at the company’s premises. Assembled and installed in a dedicated space of the former Olivetti plant, a place imbued by industrial achievements and innovation, the prototype of the holographic co-working environment developed by Quintetto in the frame of the Investment Programme for Growth and Employment (POR FESR 2014-2020) of the VDA region, has been inaugurated to match the deadline set by the programme, first to be delivered amongst the projects co-financed by the regional Government.

The prototype has raised significant interest from the professional public and a few visits from national and multinational companies and organisations are already scheduled.
As a first public outing, Qroom plus will be attending the annual 2023 DemoDay at the Pépinière d’Entreprise in Aosta on June 9th.

Quintetto presents Qroom Plus project at OCOVA forum at Les Orres (F)

A fresh start in 2023 for Quintetto in the frame of the Smart Valley project: the company has been invited to present its pilot project Qroom plus at the annual OCOVA forum, the major interalpine event focusing on the contribution of digital technologies to the ecological transition and the evolution of tourism models in the alpine space (https://www.ocova.eu/en/).
The Qroom plus project has been presented together with two other projects that are part of the Smart Valley initiative: one from the Politecnico di Torino and one more from Core Informatica. Smart Valley is the coordination project of Line 2 “Mountain Technology” of the “R&D Aggregations” call for proposals financed by the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta and the European Union through the Investment Programme for Growth and Employment (European Regional Development Fund).

Quintetto Qroom plus project is aimed at creating the first holographic conferencing system on integrable modules: a new architecture allowing to hold holographic telepresence communication sessions in true conferencing mode and allow attendees to engage in co-working activities where all players are represented as holograms and share tools capable of generating two-way information flows to all other members of the session.

Qroom plus project takes off: holographic videoconferencing is now at hand.

Over the past summer months, work began on the development of the Qroom plus project which will give rise to the first holographic conferencing system on integrable modules: a new architecture allowing to hold holographic telepresence communication sessions in true conferencing mode and allow attendees to engage in co-working activities where all players are represented as holograms and share tools capable of generating two-way information flows to all other members of the session.

The programme will end in April 2023 with the installation and public presentation of a first prototype module.

The main functional developments are focused on the composition of holographic streams and their transmission-reception, the compression of the holographic stream and strategies for optimising the bandwidth influenced by the holographic streams in the communication network, the compression of the streams without loss of quality, and the optimal rendering of the data contained in the stream in visual communication.

The project is developed in the frame of the Investment Programme for Growth and Employment (POR FESR 2014-2020) of the VDA region, kicked off in April 2022.

Quintetto expands its competencies to Smart City and Sustainability in communities.

Last summer Quintetto took part to the  2nd Training Programme for Clusters, SMEs and scale-up organizations initiative, (see our post Qroom hits marks…on Aug. 1st 2021). This  allowed the company to improve its understanding of the smart cities demand of technologies and innovative solutions for the development of comprehensive systems aimed at improving the access to services from citizens. The two months programme focused on several real use cases thus casting light on differences in approach and implementation of local authorities in countries and the way in which they prioritise their goals. A clearer view and a sounder background on these strategies and visions will allow to build more accurate segmentation of proposals when it comes to planning the development of new technologies and features of existing architectural solutions, such as is the case for Quintetto.

The participation has been sanctioned by a certificate issued by the programme coordinator, the SmartCTClusters Network.

Quintetto (…and Qroom + Qcast) in Italy’s leading financial newspaper.

Catwalk for Quintetto and its advanced know-how in holography and real-time multidevice communication on Il Sole 24 Ore last September 27th.

The primary Italian financial newspaper published a few days ago a short article summarising the essential elements of Qcast and Qroom two extremely innovative solutions of Quintetto’s portfolio which are attracting the attention and interest of two rapidly accelerating markets: telepresence and professional remote communication.  Security, high performance, low bandwidth consumption, absolute real time, simplicity and cost-effectiveness, ubiquity of operating models and interactivity were emphasized in the article together with a to-the-point focus on Quintetto’s vision: that of “naturalising” the interaction between humans and advanced technology.

Qroom hits marks at major European Smart City event.

With a pitching session held on 13th of July Quintetto presented its Qroom to an audience of about 200 international specialists, at the closing of the 2nd Training Programme for Clusters, SMEs and scale-up organizations initiative.

The 5-days programme organized by the SmartCTClusters project (*), to which Quintetto took part as a selected member of TorinoWireless (https://www.torinowireless.it/?lang=en), involved 5 international speakers, 4 Smart Cities, 16 stakeholders or market players, and 16 SMEs specialising around the pillars of Ict, Energy, Mobility, and Public Administration: an extended scale online event with participants from 17 different countries representing relevant agents of the Smart cities ecosystem, such as City Councils, Clusters, Professional Associations, Companies & SME, non-profit-organizations, Public Administrations, Start-Ups, Technology Consulting agencies, and technological centers.

The opportunity allowed Quintetto to enhance its knowledge of smart cities demand and needs so as to establish relationships for technology integration and development of comprehensive solutions aimed at improving the access to services from citizens. In this frame, holographic telepresence for interactive services represented here by Quintetto’s Qroom proved to be a pretty hot item as it addresses in a very simple but effective way a whole new category of remote service provision in true real time and full interaction in the town and communities environment.

(*) The project (https://smartctclusters.eu/), is one of the 13 European Strategic Partnerships for Excellence selected under the last call for proposals of the European Cluster Excellence Programme. It involves five European clusters operating in the field of  and aims to develop a common strategy to support the development of Smart Cities through the exchange of best practices and the identification of innovative models of support to the clusters member companies.
