Quintetto (…and Qroom + Qcast) in Italy’s leading financial newspaper.

Catwalk for Quintetto and its advanced know-how in holography and real-time multidevice communication on Il Sole 24 Ore last September 27th.

The primary Italian financial newspaper published a few days ago a short article summarising the essential elements of Qcast and Qroom two extremely innovative solutions of Quintetto’s portfolio which are attracting the attention and interest of two rapidly accelerating markets: telepresence and professional remote communication.  Security, high performance, low bandwidth consumption, absolute real time, simplicity and cost-effectiveness, ubiquity of operating models and interactivity were emphasized in the article together with a to-the-point focus on Quintetto’s vision: that of “naturalising” the interaction between humans and advanced technology.

Qroom hits marks at major European Smart City event.

With a pitching session held on 13th of July Quintetto presented its Qroom to an audience of about 200 international specialists, at the closing of the 2nd Training Programme for Clusters, SMEs and scale-up organizations initiative.

The 5-days programme organized by the SmartCTClusters project (*), to which Quintetto took part as a selected member of TorinoWireless (https://www.torinowireless.it/?lang=en), involved 5 international speakers, 4 Smart Cities, 16 stakeholders or market players, and 16 SMEs specialising around the pillars of Ict, Energy, Mobility, and Public Administration: an extended scale online event with participants from 17 different countries representing relevant agents of the Smart cities ecosystem, such as City Councils, Clusters, Professional Associations, Companies & SME, non-profit-organizations, Public Administrations, Start-Ups, Technology Consulting agencies, and technological centers.

The opportunity allowed Quintetto to enhance its knowledge of smart cities demand and needs so as to establish relationships for technology integration and development of comprehensive solutions aimed at improving the access to services from citizens. In this frame, holographic telepresence for interactive services represented here by Quintetto’s Qroom proved to be a pretty hot item as it addresses in a very simple but effective way a whole new category of remote service provision in true real time and full interaction in the town and communities environment.

(*) The project (https://smartctclusters.eu/), is one of the 13 European Strategic Partnerships for Excellence selected under the last call for proposals of the European Cluster Excellence Programme. It involves five European clusters operating in the field of  and aims to develop a common strategy to support the development of Smart Cities through the exchange of best practices and the identification of innovative models of support to the clusters member companies.

Vienna, Rome, Milan, Delhi, London, Stockholm: widespread recognition for Qroom.

Qroom, the Quintetto patent solution for services and public spaces gains new interest from industries.

On the long wave that led the globe through Covid-19, a growing awareness in businesses and industries about the importance to master from remote services and interaction is most likely one of the most relevant outcomes. And the raising interest about Qroom from a variety of organisations is just here to testify that. Since early 2021 Qroom became a hot item for Quintetto with at least one contract already on the go and a few more under discussion. Interest came from the transport industry, logistics, automotive, public authorities, academia, real estate, large utilities and science as well. Significantly improved in performance thanks to the integration of new functionalities derived from Quintetto’s communication system, Qcast, the Quintetto patent Qroom is poised to become a technology of choice for several organisations in Italy and abroad throughout 2021 and over. We will keep you informed.

Quintetto (and Qroom) to participate to the Virtual Innovation Workshop on June 9th 2021.

Quintetto invited to present Qroom at the next international workshop of Living Innovation (https://www.living-innovation.net/explore) coordinated by the Institute for Managing Sustainability at Vienna University of Economics and Business.

The workshop will be held on June 9th in the frame of the programme of events focused on the development of responsible, smart home solutions that tackle societal challenges and respond to pressing societal trends. Living Innovation initiative, funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme is strong of 14 partners from 10 European countries, including nine leading companies in the areas of smart homes and smart health, The project creates two distinct opportunities:

  1. Giving lead users and citizens the chance to be involved in the design of the technology that will shape their future lives
  2. Giving industry the possibility to respond directly to changes and needs of users and society.

Qroom is the immersive service desk solution developed by Quintetto to respond to telepresence and teleinteraction needs of companies and organisations looking for a more natural and comfortable environment for people to access remote added value services: a segment of operation in which Quintetto is active since its inception and that grew substantially in interest following the Covid-19 pandemic. Amongst the attendees: Accor, ÖBB, Novartis, Deutsche Telekom, Google, Microsoft, Austrian Airlines….

Holography: our future presence?

An interview with Martin Richardson, Professor of modern holography, unveils a broad perspective for holographic telepresence in services, communications and arts as well.

André Martinuzzi, head of the Institute for Managing Sustainability of Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna) with whom Quintetto is collaborating on the front of holographic services, recently interviewed Professor Martin Richardson from De Montfort University at Leicester (UK). Professor Richardson is an expert on holography and its various fields of application being these commercial, functional or even artistic.

During the video interview (which can be found here), Professor Richardson points out a few key elements that are paramount for the understanding of the great potential that holography used for performing functions and not only for entertainment, can have in our daily life.

On efficiency of relationship and person-to-person  interaction:

“The standard two-dimensional format of flat screens is tiring for the eyes. Holographic telepresence overcomes this problem, as it offers a more curved reality, which provides incredible collaboration possibilities to its users and creates a much higher attention span.”

On customisation of individual experience:

“There is something about the pureness of a three-dimensional holographic telepresence, which takes on a different meaning for its user.”

On advancements in the technology:

“Apart from the increasing application of holograms in our daily life, there are ways emerging that use holographic optical elements, which overlap the world of holography with the real world. The actual big push in science is using holograms within Augmented Reality.”

The interview covers a very wide spectrum of aspects of holography, some unexpected and, in any case confirming that the impact of the technology on operations whatever the field of application, is exponential from the User Experience side to the actual achievement of greater efficiency and performance with respect to other technlogies.

Quintetto S.r.l has been awarded a patent for its holographic service desk solution

Q-Room, the holographic telerelationship room

Pont Saint Martin, Italy October 11th, 2018– Quintetto, is proud to announce that it has received a patent (patent N. 102015000056697) from the Ministry of Economic Development in Italy. The patent has been awarded for its commercial holographic telerelationship solution, Q-room. The patent is a recognition of the intense and sophisticated research and development work carried out by Quintetto in the field of interactive relationship services, a success shared with the National Research Council of Italy, who owns 10% of the patent.

Having already been awarded, the Seal of Excellence by the European Union in both 2016 and 2017, this is a giant leap forward in securing the IP-rights of a product that has been called the future of smart banking.

Q-Room is a holographic telerelationship room, which allows people to interact from remote locations, while given the experience of being in the same room. The state-of-the-art room design is based on advanced optical perceptions. It combines hardware (cameras, monitors, computers and speakers) with a specific scenography (lighting, sound, reflections and interior design) to create lifelike hologram representations of people and space. Physical interaction is based on real facial expressions, gestures, and subtle nonverbal cues that are the foundation of a meaningful communication experience.
